The Bright Ideas education grant program is funded by North Carolina’s electric cooperatives
which provide reliable and safe electricity in 93 of our state’s 100 counties. Maximum amounts for Bright Ideas grants range from $1,000 to $3,000,
varying by location, based on the policy of the sponsoring local electric cooperative. Applicants can determine their maximum grant amount, along with contact information for
their local Bright Ideas coordinator and program specifics for their school, by clicking the “Search For My School” tab above.
When applying, teachers should only ask for the amount they need to successfully administer a project. Applications must include accurate
estimated costs for the project and show exactly how money will be spent in the budget portion of the application.
In some cases, when applicable, partial funding of a project may be awarded.
